Learn About The Tribe’s History

The story of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas first began in the pre-1700s when they were two separate tribes. Our tribal members take pride in our rich history, spanning from our migration to present-day Texas, our involvement in supporting Sam Houston during the Texas War of Independence, and the federal government's official acknowledgment of our nation in 1987.
